Mount Gibeon Intercessory Ministry Launches in Canada with a Global Mission of Empowerment.

A new wave of spiritual revival and youth empowerment is underway as Prophet Michael Adegoke unveiled the Mount Gibeon Intercessory Ministry, an interdenominational movement set to launch officially in Ontario, Canada, this August.

Speaking during a press conference in Lagos on Saturday, 28th June 2025, the Nigerian-born prophet shared the vision behind the new ministry, describing it as a "mountain of prayer" rather than a traditional church. The initiative, he said, is focused on empowering believers, particularly the youth, spiritually, mentally, and physically. “This is not a church; it’s a prayer mountain,” Prophet Michael said.

“God asked me to gather people together and lead them in prayer, and He promised to answer. That’s the assignment.”

The decision to host the press conference in Nigeria, despite the ministry’s launch in Canada, was symbolic. Prophet Michael explained that his spiritual journey began in Nigeria, where he was ordained in 2004. “Every Nigerian in Canada has family back home, and many Nigerians have family abroad. The root of this vision is here,” he noted.

Drawing from his past leadership roles in prominent churches like Winners Chapel and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Prophet Michael emphasized that the Mount Gibeon Intercessory Ministry aims to return to the foundational principles of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church specifically its early days as a prayer ministry.

“When Baba Moses Orimolade started the C&S Church, it wasn’t a church; it was a movement of prayer bands. People came together from different churches to pray. That’s what God is asking us to revive,” he explained.

He stressed that the new ministry will not conduct Sunday or midweek church services. Instead, it will host non-denominational prayer gatherings on Saturdays, welcoming members of all Christian denominations from Redeemed to Pentecostal, Celestial, CAC, and beyond.

Central to the ministry’s mission is empowerment, which Prophet Michael defines as holistic development. He recounted how spiritual and academic mentoring in his youth played a critical role in shaping his life, and he now hopes to replicate that impact for others. “When I was young, we had spiritual training and university professors mentoring us. Today, many of us from that era are CEOs. That’s what we want to do, build the next generation spiritually, educationally, and financially,” he said.

Prophet Michael also revealed that his return to the C&S fold was the result of divine instruction, dreams, and multiple confirmations over the past five years. “I’ve resisted it for years, but God kept speaking. Even my wife kept dreaming about it. When my General Overseer called and said, ‘God wants you in this ministry,’ I knew it was time,” he added.

With plans underway for the ministry’s official launch in Canada this August, Prophet Michael called on Nigerians, the C&S community, and the broader Christian world to join the movement.“We’re starting something global from here. This isn’t about building a church; it’s about building people,” he concluded.
