The Supreme Head of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and Spiritual Father/Chairman of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, JP, FNCAM, DDM, GCOMS, has died at the age of 93.
His passing was announced in an official circular dated July 30, 2026, signed by the Secretary-General of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Snr. Sp. Ap. Prophet (Dr.) Anthony Olusesan Samaye, JP, FCIHRM, MNIM, DIIHP, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire church.
According to the statement, the cleric passed away peacefully at about 2:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at his residence in Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos, surrounded by members of his family and domestic staff.
The circular, addressed to the Church Management Committee, district chairmen, conference supervisors, mission directors, church elders, zonal secretaries, ministers-in-charge of parishes, and other church leaders across the worldwide movement, announced the late cleric's "Transition to Glory and Called to Sainthood."
The statement reads in part:
"With gratitude to God Almighty for a life well spent, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire church, I write to inform you all that our Spiritual Father, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, JP, FNCAM, DDM, GCOMS, was called to glory in the early hours of today, July 30, 2026, at around 2:10 a.m. He was surrounded by his family members and all his domestic staff while he passed on to glory peacefully at his residence."
The church announced that daily prayer sessions will be held for seven days beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the late spiritual leader's residence located at Plot 1, Alogbo Close, off Ahmadiyya Bus Stop, Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos.
While praying for the repose of his soul, the church also called on members to remain steadfast in faith during the period of mourning.
"May his soul rest in perfect peace and may God grant the Church the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen," the statement added.
The church further disclosed that burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
Until his passing, Prophet Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo served as the Supreme Head (Olori) of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and the Spiritual Father/Chairman of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O). Widely known as Baba Aladura, he was one of the foremost spiritual leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim movement, dedicating decades of his life to advancing the church's mission, fostering unity within the Christian community, and providing exemplary spiritual leadership.
His death marks the end of an era for the Cherubim and Seraphim family in Nigeria and across the world, with tributes expected to pour in from church leaders, members, and admirers in the days ahead.
